Layers of Love (May 13 — 16, 2022) consists of two-dimensional works that focus on themes of personal history and family narratives. Each work is inspired by and derived from an archive of family photographs on my mother's side of the family. I first collaged the photographs and then translated the collaged image through painting and screenprinting to highlight and immortalize these precious moments. I aim to learn more about my family history through this ongoing visual investigations and celebrate the lives of those who are depicted.
This body of work was created for my Senior Thesis at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
