National Gallery of Art
Comfort Collage: Piecing
Together Memories & Meanings

Planned and facilitated three 90-minute Virtual Studio workshops titled "Comfort Collage: Piecing Together Memories and Meanings" at the National Gallery of Art during my summer internship in 2021

Outcome: Participants investigated the practice of American contemporary painter Jonas Wood as they examined his painting Helen's Room (2017) (recent acquisition) and immersed themselves in drawing and collaging processes inspired by Wood’s work to cultivate personal meaning-making

Lesson included live and pre-recorded instruction on how to create contour line drawings, value scales, personalized patterns, and narrative-inspired collages
